Round-up: Spring Décor

I do not know about where you are, but things around here are starting to look, smell and feel like spring. The evenings are brighter and the days are getting warmer. I felt inspired for this round-up to collect some of the items that caught my eye lately that reminded me of spring. I actually surprised myself with this list because it is a little more feminine or “frilly” than my usual design esthetic, but I think that is just the way spring makes me feel. That bright, light energy, the hope and promise of new things to come always seems to arrive at this time of year and are all good things to harness and inspire us in our spring décor.

Here are some trends you may notice about the décor this year and that I see in so many of the spring lines that have come out so far. Décor will be all about the details - curvy silhouettes, rounded corners, bun-feet (so cute!), reeded fronts, scalloped edges, pleated fabrics and the pastel-y colours- think terracotta, periwinkle, butter-yellow. These elements are so perfect for what you might expect for spring décor and although I don’t suggest you change your whole home’s design to include every one of these trends, consider which of these might fit nicely into your existing esthetic and have fun with some low- commitment pieces, maybe some of these I’ve included here for inspiration! Links provided for each item, below.

  1. Pillows: Tonic Living, blush, pattern, lumbar 2. Vase/Bowl: H&M Home, vase, bowl 3. Planters: J.D. Lighting 4. Floral Print: Collection Prints 5. Striped Cafe Curtain: Bed Bath and Beyond 6. Seagrass Basket: H&M Home 7. Scalloped Mirror: Amber Lewis for Anthropologie 8. Throw Blanket: Urban Outfitters

I hope you are feeling the hope and fresh start that comes with spring and that (I think) we all need. Whether you purchase these or other new décor items for the new season or dust of those vases and fill your rooms with fresh (of faux) spring florals, bringing spring inside and embracing this new season will be good for the soul.
