Project Dream Office
Hello again,
It has been 6 months since I posted to the Back Home Blog. My summer included a lot of juggling work between camp drop offs and pick ups (which is never enough time) and when I wasn’t working we were running to kids’ soccer games, hosting friends and family for potlucks and camp fires and taking on our first ever semi-successful family camping trip and a very successful annual beach week away with family. It was very enjoyable and now that the school year start is in the rear view I am fully into the fall season, making soups and stews, pulling out the fall florals and cozy décor and getting back into a routine with school days and project work. Speaking of projects, I thought it the perfect time to provide a look into my latest ongoing client project.
This project is the task to turn my clients’ outdated and dysfunctional home office into their dream home office. Previously I helped with the design concept, layout and selection of materials and finishes for their kitchen renovation and we have been working our way room to room addressing updates to the other areas of their home including their formal living room and television room. See some of the photos of these new spaces below.
For the office we are working to achieve a similar design esthetic- modern, traditional design, that compliments the other areas of the home, but provides more of a moody library / study vibe that the homeowner has always wanted for their home office. To do this we are sticking with the same colour hues and design style as the rest of the home while embracing more moody tones and focusing the budget on impactful design features that add function and style where it is needed most.
I will share some more details and before and afters of the office space in a future post, but here is the project’s design board below. What do you think of that moody blue!?
